the AU interview at BIGSOUND: Caulfield (Sydney) talk broken arms, their recording process and future plans

Straight off the release of their second album Outcast, Sydney's Caulfield members Jared, Andrew, Matt and Cole sat down with the AU review's editor Larry Heath at Bigsound, or as they call it "Brosound". After writing the first song for the album "Smoke and Genesis" a year ago, the band decided on " a new direction than the last album (so) that people can get to know where we're coming from, finally." BIGSOUND has named the first 50 artists for the 2015 live program and for another year, Brisbane looks to become a buzzing hive of excellent live music in September! IWrestledABearOnce touring with Caulfield in March and April.

It's been two years since IWrestledABearOnce tore through the country on their last national tour, showing crowds what's what. Through March and April, they'll be back at it again, with Caulfield in tow. Though they underwent what seemed like a sudden change in personnel in 2012, the introduction of vocalist Courtney LaPlante to IWrestledABearOnce fans went down incredibly well and since then, the band has delivered a successful record featuring her vocals and have continued to prosper.

I left tonight's show wondering if crowds were becoming tired of going to shows or of metalcore as a genre. With the exception to the response to headliners, Canada’s Silverstein, the punters at the Manning Bar lacked a lot of enthusiasm and energy. Two things synonymous with metalcore music.
