There are only a handful of Australian festivals that can arouse the kind of excitement that always surrounds Fuzzy’s Field Day, without a doubt the biggest New Year ’s Day celebration in Sydney, always bringing quality line-ups to our shores.

Two of the hottest properties in dance music, Calvin Harris and Example have joined French electro-maestros Justice on the Field Day 2012 line-up. Sydney’s best New Year’s Day party is further enhanced by the dubstep stylings of Modestep and a solid squadron of local stars including Flight Facilities, The Aston Shuffle , Cloud Control and New Navy.

Since 2005, Shore Thing has been Sydney’s favourite New Year’s Eve party, taking over the most famous stretch of sand in the world, Bondi Beach, with the biggest names in music. From Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Helden to David Guetta last year, it’s an event making sure New Year’s Eve keeps its reputation as the ‘Party of the Year’.

For those that don’t know, Japan’s Summer Sonic is a massive music festival, annually taking place over an early-August weekend in two different cities at once – Osaka and Tokyo.

Last year I was lucky enough to travel with one of my best mates to a few Asian countries – Japan being our major adventure, and Summer Sonic in Tokyo being the focal point of our trip.
