Festival Review: The Farmer and the Owl - University of Wollongong, Wollongong (14.03.2015)

Going down to Wollongong University to attend Farmer and The Owl is an absolute joy. The trip which is only a touch over an hour’s drive from Sydney is an ease and the festival is filled with laid-back easy-going coastal vibes. That is despite the healthy helping of raucous rock that filled out the line-up.

Live Review: DZ Deathrays + Hockey Dad + Bass Drum of Death – Fowler's Live, Adelaide (05.03.15)

DZ Deathrays arrived in Adelaide on Thursday night as part of their “Get Rich or Drunk Tryin” tour in support of their second full-length album Black Rat. In support were Illawarra surf rock duo Hockey Dad - I’d first seen these guys live in support of Bad//Dreems late last year and they blew my mind. They’ve taken things up another notch since then and it was clear a large section of the audience had come early to see them before DZ’s – if not just to see them.

The Farmer & The Owl Festival returns wot Wollongong this March and for 2015, organisers have brought together a great line up of Australian and international guests set to ensure the punters are well taken care of. The inaugural event in 2013 sold out and has now become somewhat of an institution, regardless of its short history. Returning to the University of Wollongong in a few months, The Farmer & The Owl Festival will be playing host to the following line up of bands for you!

DZ Deathrays announce 'The Get Rich or Drunk Tryin' Tour' with Bass Drum of Death and Hockey Dad!

They recently took the Best Heavy/Hard Rock ARIA home with them and off the back of yet another successful Eurotrip, DZ Deathrays are continuing the momentum by announcing their next Australian tour! The 'Get Rich or Drunk Tryin'' run of dates will see Shane and Simon taking to venues around the country next February and March, supported by the brilliant Bass Drum of Death out of the US and Hockey Dad.

What's the latest news from camp Bass Drum Of Death?

- just got home from a month-long tour, about to leave again for 3 shows in new york....oh, and also, now we are a 3-piece live, we added a 2nd guitar player for the last tour. pretty excited about that.

The album GB City has been out now for a few months, how’s the reaction been to the songs from fans so far?

- for the most part it has been really good...obviously there are places that seem to know the record better than others, but overall i've been really surprised at the response.
