With a successful career spanning over two decades, Melbourne ska-punk band Area-7 look forward to another great year in 2015, kicking off with a run of shows as part of the Soundwave Festival. They've already enjoyed great receptions on main stages at national festivals in the past including the Big Day Out, Falls Festival and the VANS Warped Tour, but there is always something special about Soundwave! With 2015 marking the band's 21st year, Area-7 will be making it a big one. The musicians took a look at some of the music that's changed their lives and offered some thoughts on the most important LP's in their collections.

Soundwave promised to be huge in 2015 and with this morning's delivery, it certainly delivered! Now set to be held over two days in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, a massive line up of international and Australian artists have been announced, with one set two play the first day and another to play the second. Leading the line up is the likes of Faith No More, Soundgarden, Slipknot and Slash for both days, while Marilyn Manson makes his return, along with the likes of Lamb of God, All Time Low and Of Mice & Men.

To end the Annandale Hotel's 11th birthday celebrations, the fifth edition of Blood Sweat and Beers takes over for a weekend-long extravaganza of some of the best underground punk rock from across the country. Spanning both Saturday and Sunday for the first time, this has to be one of the best lineups they have put together, and after past Blood Sweat and Beers events I was keen to see what bands they could unearth this time around to energise my senses.
