Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will break Australian ground with gold trident and water-projected footage presentation

From Atlantis to Waterman’s Cove, Warner Bros. Pictures’ Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will preview footage from the film on 9m high wall of water, as the character’s own 7m gold trident sets for display in Sydney’s Barangaroo from the 14th to 17th of December, 2023, ahead of the film’s release on Boxing Day.

The props department on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom had to create more than 45 different tridents during the film’s production.

Wielded by Jason Momoa’s titular character, the Trident of Neptune grants great power and the divine right to rule the sea.

To celebrate the release of the Aquaman sequel from director James Wan, a 7m gold trident will break ground of the boardwalk at Watermans Cove, Barangaroo from Thursday to Sunday.

And in a first for Warner Bros. in Australia, footage from the upcoming summer action adventure will be projected onto a spectacular 9m high x 12m wide wall of water in the harbourside cove for one night only this Friday.

Giving fans and passersby a sneak peak of the film before its release on Boxing Day, the teaser footage will be repeated every half hour from dusk (about 7.45pm) to 10pm.

Universal Pictures Director of Marketing ANZ Suzanne Stretton-Brown said: “Boxing Day is the biggest day on the Australian calendar to release films, and we’re delivering an ambitious marketing campaign designed to showcase what’s new and celebrate the franchise. We’ve worked closely with XO Media on this stunt which is designed to engage DC and movie fans in the lead up to Christmas.”

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to arrive in Australian theatres on Boxing Day, December 26th, 2023.
