Youʼre coming back down to Australia, itʼs been a few years. The last time you were here I think was for Bluesfest in ʼ09?
Perth’s Fringe World Festival is set to explode in 2012, with the full program launching online, featuring over 150 shows happening over three and a half jam-packed weeks, from Australia Day, January 26- February 19.
Returning to Australia for a string of shows in March - and performing as part of the Perth International Arts Festival in February - are UK duo Slow Club. Larry Heath caught up with Charles Watson of the group to talk about the tour, and the new record Paradise.
Itʼs been a big year for you guys, you released Paradise - how are you feeling now that itʼs out and how have you found fans to have responded to the record?
It’s Thursday night and I’m down at The Grace to cover one of Adelaide’s more successful productions over the past few years, Leader Cheetah. The band, going acoustic for the first time tonight, managed to sell out the venue in pre-sale tickets alone – a great sign for what was to come. People filled the venue nicely, which isn’t exactly hard, considering the ‘cosy’ size of the spot, so it wasn’t long before people were angling for a comfortable spot.
Heatwave Festival announced their acts and dates today, with only a month to get in and buy tickets! Despite the relatively short notice, there's a lineup that any self respecting hip-hop fan cannot ignore, including Kid Cudi, Tech N9ne, D12, Eminem collaborator Obie Trice, CrazyTown, Chamillionaire and a bunch of local acts yet to be announced!

Many, many years ago I randomly brought an FBI 94.5 FM mix CD called Kill Your Idols and became smitten with a relatively new act at the time called Expatriate. The Sydney based four piece later released a fantastic record and then promptly pissed off to Berlin for three years and completely dropped off the radar.
Twin sisters Tegan and Sara have returned with another helping of their indie pop-rock prowess, this time in the form of Get Along - a comprehensive CD/DVD package. The duo have touted the release as the end of a chapter, looking to commemorate their careers to date. Among the attractions Get Along has to offer resides a unique live performance from the pair, some 15 tracks from over two days spent at Warehouse Studios committed to recording.
