I must admit that when I heard I was going to review a band named ‘Frightened Rabbit’, I had some reservations. An obscure, Scottish band from a town named Selkirk; A band of which neither myself nor most people I asked had heard. So, with that in mind, I was surprised to see that the show to take place on the 28th of January at the John Curtin Hotel in Carlton had sold out.

Kinematic seems to have what it takes to bring a break to the band, on
first listen. However, the album lacks the attitude to grab the
listeners and make them really commit this album to memory; it remains
a bunch of feel-good pop-rock songs with some impressive guitar work,
and nothing more.
Tonight was the night I had been waiting for, for the last three years. At 17 this band was my all, now at 20 I was finally going to witness their havoc in the flesh; The Horrors!

Following the hype of his last single ‘Exegesis’, Melbourne-based Tobias Cummings has released his latest track ‘Goldmine’, which is just a small musical snack from his forth-coming album due to be released mid 2010.
