What a journey it has been for The Medics, and it just keeps on going for these lads. Though their music is kind of like a combination of rock and all out mayhem, they manage to bring a sense of urgency and intensity to the mix.

From the word go, their new single "Beggars" draws you in with that driving bass line, while the simplistic vocals sit discreetly on top. It's this simplicity and unobtrusiveness in the vocals that I think really make this track. This type of soft spoken-ness is not always typical of the band, however it is that side of the band that I like most of all.

The song never lets up for a second, maintaining the same intensity for entirety of the track. This is good thing, and contributes to the greatness of the song as an entity. It also showcases the way all the pieces come together to create the track, rather than relying on an individual part to carry the song.

I do really like this single and it shows us the wonders that are to come from the band’s debut LP, to be released in the coming months.
