The folks at Inertia / Boundary Sounds have been kind enough to give theAUreview
a sneak peak at the upcoming release from Australian indie dance icons
The Purple Sneakers DJs. Clocking in at just over 10 minutes, the
snippet from their debut compilation album "We Mix, You Dance" gives
mashup pioneer Girl Talk one helluva a run for his money in the
party-mix stakes. This genre-bending sonic journey takes us through a
"Who's Who" of hipster cool including Vampire Weekend, Miike Snow and
the XX whilst also throwing some props the way of up-and-comers such as
Darwin Deez and The Big Pink. Having spent a good chunk of my teenage
years losing my shit at the Abercrombie to PhDJ and the rest of the
Purple gang, I'm salivating at the chance to recreate those golden
years in my bedroom once I get the full 2CD mix in my hot little hands.
