If Klaxons attempted a disco song, I get the feeling it would turn out a bit like 'One I Know', a little pop gem from Central NSW Coasters Slow Down Honey. A meshing of dancey synths and a 1980's disco-esque beat, the first single from this quartet is bound to catch the ears of those who enjoy a good dance song, with the added joys of falcetto vocals and some angular guitar work.
It's nothing we haven't really heard before, but it's a bright and attactive pop song that everyone has a soft spot for.
But wait! There's more!
Sydney producer and DJ Redial has gotten his grubby mits into the track and has given us all his own spin, a remix that takes the song's natural dance-enthusiastic vibe and increases the retro disco feeling tenfold.
2011 will see Slow Down Honey release their debut album In The Red through Universal, 'One I Know' being the first single/. Also being released next year is Redail's third ep, entitled Tuff 'em Up.
