After the huge ARIA Award-winning success of What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Get, Sarah Blasko has released her next eerie yet beautifully collaborated offering, As Day Follows Night. Described by Triple J as being ‘equal parts whimsy and heartbreak’, As Day Follows Night earnt Sarah 3 ARIA nominations, 1 of which she deservingly took home (Best Female Artist).
With a plantation of honest, expressive and awe-inspiring songs, As Day Follows Night portrays sadness in the most radiant and beautiful of ways. Including the soulful smash hit ‘We Won’t Run’, the album plays host to some exquisite tracks, from the uncertainty of ‘Is My Baby Yours?’ to the haunting “All I Want’. This is the first album that Sarah has written in its entirety and I have to say, the result is nothing short of stunning.
“This album feels more like it honestly expresses my tastes and my feelings. I think that in some of the songs you feel that you’re transported to another era, but I think it’s difficult to pinpoint when or where that is,” says Sarah’s blog of her latest release. As for working with Swede Björn Yttling - “He took my vision and helped make it into a reality, but took it in directions I never imagined it could go – particularly rhythmically.”
Continuing her amazing run on her musical journey, As Day Follows Night won Triple J’s Album of the Year in December 2009 and Sarah has recently signed with Dramatico Entertainment in a pan-European deal which will see her based in Europe for much of 2010 to support the album’s release.
