Recently released EP A Thousand Voices, sees Chicago-based art-nouveau pop-rock duo My Gold Mask stomp, shake, wail and thrash through midnight melodies laced with rock noir.

The tunes are raw, sharp, and catchy, constantly pushing with a duplicitous propulsive rhythm as they cram every minute of their furious music full of chaotic twists and spasmic enthusiasm.

Gritty soulstress Gretta Rochelle contributes ferocious vocals, performed while multi-tasking on percussion, and partner Jack Armondo adds a cool resonance via nylon string guitar.

Even though the pair is generous with epic guitar symphonies, massive drum and cymbal crashes, and robust choruses, they manage to do so while possessing a poised minimalism.
