After a small return to Australa’s live circuit last year, Sydney’s Ghostwood once again went a little quite, frontman Gabriel and guitarist Paddy taking off to Los Angeles and London to work with numerous producers on what they wanted to release next. They’re now back, and have bought with them a new tune, entitled ‘Sunset Mirage’. In true Ghostwood fashion, it is drenched in a hazy atmosphere, a dark cloud that turns each instrument into delicate sounds. Despite its gentle appeal, there is a raw feeling radiating through Gabriel’s vocals and the tune’s fast pace.

This song is a clear evolution from the Ghostwood of old though is still instantly recognisable as one of theirs. I can only image how the song is going to translate live, Ghostwood’s live show turning their tunes into far more epic versions of what they manage to record down.
