Georgia Germein - Take My Hand (2010 LP)

Georgia Germein’s debut album, Take My Hand is something that straight out of the box, you know is going to be special. This 19-year-old from South Australia has managed to craft some incredibly beautiful songs, with maturity and self-awareness of someone twice her age.

On the surface it would be easy to tap your feet and sing along with the choruses, but each and every song is worth digging deeper into, taking the time to listen to the words, to discover slices of Germein’s life, to take a journey with her through some incredible soundscapes.

There is something here for everyone, from the delightfully upbeat "Wake Up" through to the country-ish "I’m Home" and the funky "Don’t Walk Away". Germein’s highly versatile and immensely powerful voice, crosses effortlessly from track to track and will leave you with RSI as you push repeat again and again and again.

There is such beauty in this album and I for one am a huge fan.

Do yourself a huge favor, go buy this album, lay back on the couch, close your eyes and let yourself drift off into the wonderful world that is Georgia Germein’s Take My Hand, I will wager a packet of pineapple lumps and my subscription to Hairstyles of the Rich and Famous that you wont regret it.
