Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand (2010 Single)

Duck Sauce

I’m not particularly sure why Barbara Streisand is the star of Duck Sauce’s aptly titled track "Barbara Streisand", and I often wonder how she feels about it.

OK I lied, I don’t think about it much. I’m usually too busy ‘do-do-do-a-doooo-ing’ to really care, and I think this sentiment is shared amongst my peers.

It seems like Duck Sauce (a collaboration between Brooklyn DJs Armand Van Helden and A-Trak), mixed around a couple of samples, added a random hook, a repetitive but catchy tune and waited for it to bake. It’s a hard track to fault as there’s not much going on except a lot of awesome.

Essentially, it’s a basic instrumental track with the words “Barbara Streisand” spoken at regular intervals – not exactly the assumed recipe for a chart topper. But that’s kind of what adds to this track’s magic. If you don’t catch at least one of your limbs having a jig during this track, seek medical attention immediately.

If you haven’t already heard the original, it’s probably because you’ve listened to one of the many sweet remixes that popped up all over the net before it was properly released. The O God mix is the most well known, with others like Fare Soldi and Ziggy Stardust close behind.

Feel like belting out the track at home, in your car, or at a club isn’t enough for the disco house demon inside of you? Then say hello to the boys at their only Australian show: Fuzzy’s Field Day 2011 – coming to a city near you.
