Covered by Snow is the first single from Dead Letter Chorus’ upcoming, yet untitled, sophomore album. If the song is anything to go by, it might turn out to be a very good album indeed.
Starting as a folky love song, it builds up into something quite beautiful. Although the band must get a bit tired of being compared to Arcade Fire (during their recent tour of Canada the press actually called them Australia’s answer to Arcade Fire), there’s definitely some similarities, with hints of drama seeping through while the track progresses. The positive overtones and pop hook keep it well balanced though, and the lovely harmonies sung by Gabrielle Huber and Cameron Potts make "Covered by Snow" one of those songs that keep lingering in your head all day.
