If the ridiculously cold weather has been getting you down, Blame Ringo has the perfect antidote in their infectiously catchy new single “At The In Between.” Boppy, poppy and light hearted, this song is an absolute gem from start to finish.
The song boasts lyrics which are both thoughtful and entirely adorable (more than dreamers/ but we’re not about to be schemers), as well sixties sounding guitars and a beat that is bound to be stuck in your head for days. This is the type of song which refuses to disappear, and while it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it will definitely make more friends than enemies.
The accompanying film clip mirrors the song perfectly. Boasting “80 (wrestling) moves in 3 minutes,” it is just as much about friends having fun as it is about the music, and it’s all good clean fun (even with the inclusion of moves such as “Pink Belly,” and “Nipple Cripple.”) You really get the sense that these boys are loving life, and when you’re creating music like this, why wouldn’t you be?
This Brisbane band (who genuinely believes Ringo Starr to be a malevolent force in the world) have produced the perfect nugget of indie pop, complete with three part harmonies and insanely catchy lyrics. With a new album and a tour before the year is out, Blame Ringo are set to be very busy boys and their single “At The In Between,” is sure to keep you warm until the summer sunshine hits.
