It has been officially announced that on April 7 next year, Universal Studios in Hollywood, California, will open the doors to their newest attraction, The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. To announce the opening date, the team at Universal Studios celebrated by illuminating the grand centerpiece of the Harry Potter-themed installation, Hogwarts Castle.

Now five-years in the making, Universal Studios have said that The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter has been inspired by and has kept faithful to, the enthralling stories and characters of the hugely successful series of J.K Rowling’s novels and Warner Bros. produced films, “From its snow-capped roofs and cobblestone streets to the historic British sensibilities that characterise the whimsical look and feel of the land, [it] will transport guests of all ages to the very places they read about in the stories or watched on the silver screen.”
From Thursday 7 April, visitors to the popular move-based theme park can experience life through the eyes of the young wizard, wandering through the village of Hogsmeade. Once inside, fans can immerse themselves in two stand-out rides.
The first, a state-of-the art 3D-HD robotic and visual thrill ride, Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey. The second, a family friendly roller coaster titled Flight Of The Hippogriff which is the first outdoor roller coaster at the park.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will include 8 retailers and authentic food and beverage venues.
Universal Studios, dubbed the “Entertainment Capital of LA,” already hosts some of the world’s favourite movie-based rides and tours including The Simpsons, Jurassic Park, Revenge Of The Murray, Despicable Me, King Kong and more.
